As smallcase expanded rapidly, maintaining a consistent design language across multiple products became a challenge. I worked with the design team to create a unified design system that streamlined both user experience and collaboration between designers and engineers.
The system covered colour, typography, grids, components, and iconography, establishing a clear visual hierarchy and modular framework that scaled with the platform’s growth. Every element was built to serve clarity and performance, from accessible colour tokens and responsive text styles to simplified spacing rules that made interfaces more predictable and efficient to design.
All icons were hand-drawn specifically for smallcase, giving the platform a distinct visual identity that felt consistent across web and mobile. The custom icon set balanced precision and personality, complementing the brand’s geometric logo and minimal aesthetic.
I also worked on SEO-focused web pages that extended the design language beyond the product. These pages were optimised for readability, speed, and hierarchy, improving discoverability while staying visually consistent with the system.
The result was a scalable, system-driven design foundation that unified the brand across platforms, strengthened team efficiency, and created a cohesive user experience across Smallcase’s growing ecosystem.
